When Technology Meets Purpose
A Chatbot Designed to Transform Rare Coagulation Disorders Education for Patients and Their Communities Across Africa

The Health Gap
Many communities across Africa lack access to essential haemophilia care, including diagnostic services and safe, reliable treatment products such as clotting factor concentrates. Limited awareness of haemophilia and the absence of accurate, culturally appropriate information often lead to delayed diagnoses, mismanagement of bleeding episodes, and a significantly increased risk of preventable disability or life-threatening complications.
Language barriers, stigma surrounding bleeding disorders, and low digital literacy further complicate access to trustworthy haemophilia education. These barriers make it difficult for individuals and families to recognize symptoms, understand treatment protocols, or benefit from available educational tools. Tackling these challenges is critical to improving disease education, early diagnosis, expanding access to comprehensive haemophilia care, and strengthening health outcomes for affected individuals across the region.
